MOT Advisories on a potential car I am after
Vehicle: VW TOURAN SPORT 2.0 TDi (2007)
1) Nearside front front constant velocity joint gaiter damaged, but preventing the ingress of dirt (2.5.c.1a)
2) Offside front front constant velocity joint gaiter damaged, but preventing the ingress of dirt (2.5.c.1a)
3) Offside front anti-roll bar linkage ball joint dust cover damaged, but preventing the ingress of dirt (2.4.g.2)
It's a foreign language to me - is this work serious if it needs fixing in terms of parts/labour etc?
Just looking for approximates to guage whether or not the car is worth pursuing.
Many thanks

What car is it and how much are they asking for it? On a Ferrari it will be eye watering on a Fiesta it won't cost a lot.0

as above what car is it the age etc, this is not a lot of work, maybe a few hundred for a fiat, but a few thousand if a Ferrari. We may not win by protesting, but if we don’t protest we will lose.
If we stand up to them, there is always a chance we will win.0 -
Pretty cheap fix. If the car is reasonable priced it wouldn't put me off. Get the work done ASAP as it's only going to get worse.0

A few hundred should cover it, if you do not take the main stealer
CV boot kit £30 x2
Pair of Drop links (anti-roll bar linkage) £20 each,
and anything that breaks doing the job
£100 labour
The Vat mans bit
and your good to goWe may not win by protesting, but if we don’t protest we will lose.

Leave the drop link until it splits completely or ball joint starts knocking.
Cv boots can be picked up for a tenner for the stretchy type. 30-40mins a side. But it may not even need doing right now. They can deteriate long before splitting.
They are very minor advisories though. Wouldn't be put off at sll0 -
Thanks to all replies - very helpful for someone who knows f'all about cars!0

VW TOURAN....hmmm, better check the front tyres, I read that they only have 3.4mm on them.0

Doesn't matter - it was sold as I was on my way to view it
