haha, we've got 2 boys under 7 and a dog - there is NEVER a moments peace in the house when they are around.
OP should avoid all people if he wants peace0 -
On a slightly serious note, having children and pets does not mean you cant grab some space/time alone. If some parents didnt insist on micro managing kids every waking moment, they can easily grab regular quiet time.
If a partner resents it or fails to understand the need for "space" occasionally then run for the hills would be my advice0 -
Yup, if they insist on barging in (whether in the form of "popping their head around the door" or actually opening the door all the way) when privacy has been asked for, it shows no understanding or respect for boundaries. It won't get better, so the OP needs to decide if they can live with the lack of respect for privacy for the rest of their life, or not.If a partner resents it or fails to understand the need for "space" occasionally then run for the hills would be my adviceProud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
But going by what Jojo said in #27, it seems there may be a lot more to this than at face value, hence the need to know a bit more about the situation, which doesn't look likely now.:((I just lurve spiders!)

Its difficult to say without more info. Do you mean you don't get time to pursue your own hobbies, or she walks into the loo / bathroom without warning, or is loud when you are on the phone?
Tell us more and we can give a better opinion.0 -
