!!!!!! - Petrol up again!

The forecourt price drops from the oil price falls months ago were never passed on and oil goes up overnight and up go the prices by 3p instantly.
I'm sick of the UK, it has nothing to offer anymore. Australia here I come.
With all the stupid rises to car insurance and everything including trains and airport tax rises, the UK is becoming a "travel and get stung" nightmare. Will be driving a 3-litre V6 over there cheaper than a 1.poo here.
When will the government realise that their greed has lead to an exodus of companies (eg Vestas) and educated tax payers.
What's the next move by Westminster, nationalising the car companies and selling sports cars with lawnmower engines at V8 prices.

This would be like buying a ferrari and them saying; oh well we found out the V8 broke the drive shafts so we just put this lawnmower engine in instead. 99% of the people wont tell the difference and we save money on drive shaft replacements!!!:rotfl:

good bye, you've just freed up a job for someone else who is committed to this country so well done :T
Aus does not like whingeing Poms so hope you find it meets your expectations!0 -
I suppose other counties you dont get ripped off then
Car insurance goes up based on risk and previously claims, too many uninsured drivers and reckless drivers causing accidents
Can I have your job?
The grass is always greener on the other side so they say0 -
Hmmmm...seems a slight over reaction! Assuming a flight to Oz costs you £600....you could fill up your 45 litre tank once a week for more than the next 8 years before you would be "better off" in Sydney airport! If a 3p rise in petrol worries you..don't look at the costs of visas / moving costs etc.....also have you seen the wages in most jobs in Oz??? (not as good as here).0

No such thing as free banking in Australia......0

Ignoring the surrounding points of the original post, it is irritating when fuel rises are never replaced by fuel drops. Diesel was 99p last week when I filled up. I see this week it's shot up to 107.9 !
Fortunately I keep a hedge fund to absorb fuel bumps so it doesn't really affect my bottom line as such. But it is annoying. It sounds complicated but you can easily do it. For a quick 'idiots guide' take a click here.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

If only it was a 3p rise that p'ed me off. It's the never ending rises of 1p/2p/3p that are the pis!-off. The car insurance too. There are dangerous young male drivers in other countries that pay sod-all. It has reached the point that people have to claim injury compensation just to afford to pay for the insurance itself.
The fact that the government benefits from this scam means that the only way out is to leave the corrupt system to itself and those sorry souls who live in it.
I may earn less but be better off. I don't care about pre-tax earnings. It's the take home pay and disposable income that matter. This would be like buying a ferrari and them saying; oh well we found out the V8 broke the drive shafts so we just put this lawnmower engine in instead. 99% of the people wont tell the difference and we save money on drive shaft replacements!!!:rotfl:0 -

Australia will be no more immune from Peak Oil than anywhere else.
Although I think fuel tax is too high, it is not the cause of this latest rise.0 -
However it *IS* a shame that oil price goes up, petrol goes up same day. Oil price goes down, petrol takes about a month before the price goes down or until a supermarket eventually decides to break the ice with a price war.0

Someone I met a few weeks ago when to Australia to teach. Sold his house and car - the works! In less than a year he's back. Not enough work to support himself there. Apparently if you already have a teaching job in Oz you can easily get another - if you don't it can be almost impossible. Like I said - he's back and for good too.
Hope you work in a shortage industry and have more luck than he did.
If I emigrated I'd go to New Zealand but the family are all here so it isn't an option at the moment.0
