I thought you were off to Australia last month? When you were kicking off about petrol and immigrants?0

There is an oil cartel that decides on prices, and despite price fixing being illegal, the government doesn't mind about it too much because they get a lovely tax take (and can't control it anyway).
The only way out of it is to drive less.0 -
Or drive more efficiently.
I took the crap out of my boot, gave the car a service, pumped up the tyres and leaned off the accelerator a little. My mpg (400 mile average I think it does) went from 47 to 65.7 !Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j
Do something amazing. GIVE BLOOD.0 -
Petrol up 1p. Hadly the end of the earth and reason to be sick of the country. Oil companies do the same thing worldwide!0

One thing I've never worked out .. why do two Tescos / Morrisons / Sainsburys / Asda 20 miles apart charge 2p a litre different for fuel.
It's not like bread or milk costs less down the road.0 -

Cos they price it to the local market, not to a national price.
And other prices (true not often bread and milk but I have seen it) do vary in price between stores0 -
Of course, none of it has anything to do with currency fluctuations, oh no siree. (Apart from in Aus where they use monopoly money)
It's all that nasty governments fault. Oh yes.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Fortunately I keep a hedge fund to absorb fuel bumps so it doesn't really affect my bottom line as such. But it is annoying. It sounds complicated but you can easily do it. For a quick 'idiots guide' take a click here.0 -
