Cyberhome CH-DVD 401 Divx/Xvid DVD Player £17.49 !!!

Just bought 2 of these players from WHSmith for £17.49 each.

They are marked up as Half Price was £69.99 Now £34.99 but ring through the till at £17.49 !!!

They play DivX/Xvid and can be made region free. (see below)

To make Region Free :

1. Power on from the remote (not from the unit)

2. Press "menu" then "1" then "9"

3. You will see a grey box with a number. Press Enter until it displays "0".

4. Switch off and on again.

    Thanks, picked up the last one at my local WH Smiths. It was actually marked as £17.49.

    One thing I found by accident (but on thinking about it was obvious), was if you are playing DIVX files that were originally recorded from American TV, then changing the video setting in the player to NTSC (or automatic) makes for a much smoother playback (although obviously your TV would need to be able to accept an NTSC signal).

    Well i phoned all Edinburgh stores when it was first listed and none had any. Infact they said they'd had none for ages. Must be a clearance just where stock was unsold.

    By the way, does anyone know of the cheapest divx player available?

    Hi I brought one two yrs ago for £50.00 in whs and is brill and have had no probs at all and was easy setting the multi regional code. I have also brought one each for my two girls about a year ago cant recomend enough!!!

    Sorry if a bit raffled just got up from being out all night, Head is still spining!

    Bought for gf about a year ago on Amazon for £35.... works fine. Didn't like a certain DVD (memiors of ageisha) so flashed it as mentioned above and works perfectly.

    Bargain.
  • ne1 know if the latest firmware supports packed bitstream xvid files?

  • As far as I am aware, it does not support packed bitstream, but you can use MPEG4Modifier to remove this and it will work fine - only takes a few seconds to use as well.
