  • I would be interested about this too. My dad uses it and he swears by it.
Made it - 15 years married!! Finally!! xx:beer:
  • I've used MS Money for the last few years, I don't use the budget planner but for me it helps me to keep track of my bank account without having to go online every day.

You can set up all your incomings and outgoings and can see how things stand anytime up to the 12 months ahead. I enter the details into it every time I spend something and I go online maybe once or twice a week to balance it with my actual account.

For me it lets me see how much I've got to budget with for the next few weeks. I'd be lost without it.

I use it all the time and would recommend it highly. It helps me budget and see just where my money goes. It actually helps me save money by doing this. Wished I'd had it years ago, I could have saved a fortune!!

I just use Excel spreadsheets. Cheap and can do anything you want if you put your mind to it.

I really dont get on with Microsoft Money - I think it could be the accountant in me telling me I can do better though. I prefer jazzy spreadsheets.

I use MM everyday and find it really helps me keep ontop of what we spend our money on and I like using the forcast though not really sure how to use it properly. The only thing I found frustrating was the lack of instructions and I have had to teach myself how to use it. I would recommend it though.

  • I use MM too. But only to track my bank accounts. I don't use all the features it has - but it is quite good.
  • We're now using MS money only to track scheduled payments on a daily basis (i.e. DDs) - everything else is done on paper. This is only because Money has gone slightly potty and keeps double counting OH's salary in the overviews, and subtracts scheduled bills without adding scheduled payments etc.

If you can have a play on someone else's copy and see if it suits you before you buy it, do, because I really begrudge the £20 we spent on it - it wasn't worth it for us.

I am addicted to microsoft money nearly as much as I am addicted to this site.
I go on both religiously everyday.
MM is good for me because i can put in my estimated income (always under estimate cos anything more is a bonus) and my outgoings for months ahead.
I can then tell when things are going to be good or very tight and make my battle plan to prevent bank charges etc. It is also good because b4 i had it i used to think 'Ive just been paid, i can afford that not realising the knock on effect it would have in a week or 2.
And like someone previously posted i check it against my online banking weekly just to make sure evrything is on track.
My husband has given me control of the finances as he is usless with money, he now asks me to look on MM to see if he can afford things if not he waits until MM says we can.
    I love it!! :heartsmil :heartsmil
Look atfer the Pennies and the ££££'s will care for themselves :money:
  • Before you splash out on MM - a quick google for a freeware downloadable money manager type program shows there are loads out there.
