I want an XD card for camera

I'm waiting for a new Olympus camera to be delivered and want a higher capacity card for it (512 mb or more) - but would consider several smaller cards. Any recommendations for reasonably priced suppliers please?

    It wasnt untill I looked a few weeks ago I found that there are now 2 speeds of XD card H and M H is the high speed card about 2-3 times quicker, whihc will be noticable in high mp cameras

    Olympus cameras with a panoramic fuction require Olympus cards not fuji cards for the panoramic bit to work but fuji cards work ok

    Scan sell 521mb for £23.14
    FotoSense have the full range but are slightly more expensive

    Depending on the camera you can never have too much space on the memory card so buy the biggest you can afford. my 4mp camera will take about 180 pictures on a 512mb card It is also a pain to carry multiple cards with you and the other always fills up just as you are about to take that once in a lifetime shot.

    The 1GB cards have droped in price now to about double the 512mb where they were a lot more when they came out. search kelkoo there are lots available.

    Thanks for the information - I was wondering what the difference was between the types. I'll look at the sites you've mentioned for an Olympus H type. Whatever I buy, I'll still end up with lamposts growing out of peoples heads but at least I can delete those photos!!!

    PS The camera has just this minute been delivered.

    Also try a search on Pricerunner.

    But don't forget Ebay? There are some good priced cards on there (got a couple of OE 1gb much cheaper than any internet retailer - a few months ago) BUT - do go for UK based sellers and check out their feedback for the cards you are buying

    I was going to say try either https://www.7dayshop.co.uk or https://www.mymemory.co.uk but after taking a look at https://www.mymemory.co.uk, it appears that they have 512Mb Olympus xD 'H' cards on offer at the moment for £21.94 all in.

    Don't forget, the Scan price mentioned earlier in this post excludes VAT and P&P.

    your right about the shipping but VAT is included in that price, Scan is great if you live locally like I do.

    Little John - Apologies, you are correct, I missed that.

    Quick comparison:

    Scan = £31.36
    MyMemory = £21.94

    I'm very tempted by this myself.

    Don't suppose anyone knows if there is much of a market for second hand xD cards (128Mb)?

    Thanks everyone for the helpful comments. I ordered from mymemory.co.uk yesterday and had an email saying that the card has been despatched. Thanks again!
  • Hi I'm new to this site, and I've found it quite interesting reading through the posts.

    I was looking to get a few XD cards for my hols this year and the ones on the high st seem really expensive compared to that website, I was just wondering if the XD card you got from them was ok
