  • Just rec'd a message from Ebay saying to celebrate 10 years of Ebay trading in the UK they are offering totally free auction insertions 22nd to 31st August. I guess this is a national offer to everyone?

As it says, no insertion fees from tomorrow until the end of the month. (Final Fees, gallery, etc. still will be charged)

Thanks Aidy, I've got a couple of large items I want to put up but am not sure if they'd sell or not. Dont want to put them up for pennies as they are worth quite a bit, but dont want large fees if they dont sell either so this is perfect :)

  • I've just tried to schedule a listing to start between those free dates and fees come up as usual insertion price + schedule fee, am I doing something wrong? As it says in terms and conditions listing schedules to start 22 aug-31 aug won't be charged. Such a shame exactly those dates clash with our holiday lol

Just pointing out the promotion doesn't apply to businesses (and therefore PowerSellers as well).

So people that need to watch their bottom-line are being cut out from the potential savings again, while the "I'm not a business, despite selling 7,428 items that are very similar" brigade can just go ahead and relist all their unsold stuff for free (and they'll probably stick the price up for that week ).

Possibly you'll be charged it now, but it'll be taken off your invoice when ebay next calculate your owed fees (about the 15th-17th of the month).

You won't be charged if the listings go live during the 'free' period.
