Thanks for these suggestions everyone, i have registered for peopleperhour and i'll try elance too - is that one just America though? They seem to be exactly what i'm looking for - if i get the work!
Thanks, i might try the agencies idea too...if any of them do that sort of work from home jobs?

    Hi,

I used to work for this company, typing reports etc at home. They email you a sound file and you e-mail them back the document. They do take off money for mistakes though - I used to make quite good money but it is hard work and ended up typing most nights when the kids were in bed - but it worked for me for a while.

I think you just register your details with them and they send you a document to type and then take it from there.

    good luck

    Try www.workingmums.co.uk
This is a great site and they have a home working section.

I have applied for a couple of jobs and it is very professional.

    Good luck

    Hi all,
Does anybody know of like a virtual agency for online jobs, if such a thing exists? I'm signed up to Elance, Guru and PPH but still haven't got any work in about 2 months! I'm applied for the transcription agency too, minihay, do you know roughly how long they take to get back to you?

Freeme, I hope you will take this as constructive criticism, but as someone who works as a copy-editor (basically proof-reading), I did notice several errors in your post. If you want to do this kind of work, you will need to have a very good grasp of grammar and an eye for mistakes (which you may well do, for all I know you're just a bit more relaxed in internet posting).

And yes, I read this post very carefully to see if I'd made any errors! lol

why not try bar work or night shifts in supermarkets as then you can do this around studying and will cover the bills.

Problem is that everyone is applying for these jobs. Bar jobs ask for experience-of which I have none as I don't drink! And shelf stacking is a last resort! I have 5+ years worth of experience in Insurance admin and call centres so just want a job where I can use my skills and get paid a decent wage-which many people are looking for.

Just because I am a student doesn't mean I have to settle for bar work or shelf stacking.

I applied to this agency as well, i received an email back the next day stating they are no longer hiring but will keep my details on file for later this year.
its a shame it would of been perfect for me.
