I've gone through the whole site and can't see the deal you are talking about - there's only 9 months free on 12 months contract with 200x-net+75txts
  • Give them a call - 0800 0 345 888 - It is a real bargin!!

their site seems to be blatantly misleading. When you click to get the list of 12 month deals, none of them that I looked at had 12 month free rental.

Suggest this is removed unless this changes.

It's an annoying feature of their site (same problem with Buy Mobile Phones IIRC) that as long as ANY tariff has a MINIMUM of12 months free line rental on offer, it will be listed here.

In this case it's always an 18 month tariff that triggers the listing as they don't currently have any 12 month contracts with 12 months free line rental on offer.

Thanks, I guess it was the 1st post that was most misleading:

This coupled with the banner had me sensing that I was misled.

It seems that e2save / osps are offering better offers on the phone only on some specials at the moment than on the website - I guess it saves on quidco money?

If that's the case then, as far as I understand it, it's against the T&Cs of the affiliate networks (I imagine it's because it undermines their affiliate sales force). Retailers have been suspended from affiliate networks for less.

Of course, E2Save, OSPS, CPW and the like are probably powerful enough to not need an affiliate network to manage their affiliate sales channel.

In fact...now that I think about it, I get the distinct impression that users of cashback schemes have historically been singled out for cancellation whenever there have been shortages of popular offers (afterall, from a business point of view, it would make sense to cancel orders where the profit margin is lower first). Sadly, there is no surefire way of proving this theory.

We know for a fact that osps process telephone orders when they get them whereas online orders get processed as and when, often resulting in them missing out on offers when stock has been exhausted after the order was placed. It wouldn't be much more difficult for these orders to be processed so not affiliate ones got processed first would it. I guess this could be tested by doing two orders at the same time alliliate and non-affiliate but it would also need to be for an offer that was then withdrawn.
    I think....
