The latter one gets you an SSD so will be noticably quicker for everyday tasks, etc.

Do you really need that big a screen on the move though?

Genuinely curious. I'd be saying an XPS but i dont think they do a 17 inch screen on one.

It depends what OP use it for.
If it is gaming, usually MSI or Asus.

I wouldnt be constraining yourself to a laptop then if you dont need one.

BUT if its a 17 inch laptop you want and its not for out and out gaming then the HP with the SSD would be my choice of the two.

I've an Envy 13 but i travel a lot, so its size and lightness suits me better.
