I called them and managed to get a full refund to both my vouchers. I don't think I will buy from them again. Their email system for dealing with complaint doesn't work. Try calling them, the chap I had on the phone was very helpful.

Can I just stay that the demonstrations caused by rising of the retirement age from 60 to 62 in France were a disgrace. We all have to work longer, that's called mathematics. The French are just so used to getting everything provided for them (a lot of it by the government) it's a joke. I love my country but that is not…

That is just not good enough...

I was only joking, I am sure it will be a lovely house!

Er it's in Maidstone

HI Chilihead, What's happening with your property? Carine

Has anyone reported them to Trading Standards and is there ground for it? I bought 2 vouchers, one for DIY, there was no indication that the deal was only available Monday to Friday and there was going to be a 6 week lead in time. Another one for a beauty treatment and no one is answering the phone to make a booking.

How about going to Southern Railway in person with all the paperwork in question?

I would try a deshumidifier and if that doesn't work - move out. Mould is nasty and can bring all all sorts of illnesses

You need to allow for the tenant not paying rent and/or refusing to move out; this could be a shortfall of rent for 3 months of more + solicitors + bailiffs fees. The flat above mine has just been ruined by the last tenant. It will cost thousands of ££ to put it back in a good condition. The deposit would not cover any…

OK, now I'm scared!

Re. Sinking fund, the lease provides for it but there is no indication of how it is managed and what happens when a flat is bought or sold. If a flat is sold, doesn't the sollicitor acting for the seller ensures that the money paid into the fund is paid by the buyer? Which leads to my next question: I thought the RTM…

Thanks for your message. If you know of any websites where I could get some inspiration, it would be great. We are particularly interested in taking control of the management since we feel that the freeholder has been doing the strict minimum but also ignoring some clauses of the lease - which I hope we won't be doing! We…

Thanks, it looks like we will be going down the RTM route. Apart from LEASE documents, do you know of any book that deal with RTM? What is your experience of it?

I see, thanks!

Hi Chilihead, I have sent you a PM. Since your managing agent has not followed Section 20 consultation adequately, of course they are now re-issuing a revised notice of intention. Let's hope they get the process right this time around. If the notice of intention and/or notice to proposed works still doesn't follow the…

Thanks, I have already got all the documents from LEASE and have read them several times. Just trying to get an idea of timescales/cost/hassle associated with it.

I agree with what everybody else has said. If it's been on the market for 18 months it should ring alarm bells. There could be something seriously wrong with the property or it is overpriced. The fact that the Estate Agent and the Vendor say they don't know how long is left on the lease very dubious to me. They cannot not…

Hi Reens, I responded to your email last night and will today post a letter to all leaseholders regarding this so they can get in touch with me. I have received a response from the Managing Agent regarding my queries, they have responded to all items (unsatisfactorily to most items) apart from my question as to why they…
