Car been vandalised, should i claim?

Someone ran straight over my car, denting the bonnet, which will cost £75 to fix (well thats what i'm assuming looking at the damage.) I'm on third party fire &theft, I do not want to lose my no-claims bonus as i'm only 19 and this is my first year driving. Will it affect my no-claims bonus if i claim? If yes, there any other way to avoid claiming?

Extra info that may or may not help (i dunno)
Fire & Theft excess £100

You can't claim, as you only have 3rd party, fire & theft. You are only covered for damage you cause to others, or if your car is stolen or catches fire.

Actually, what if the person was caught vandalising my car on CCTV? Would i be able to make that person pay for it or will someone form somewhere pay for it? (Criminal Damages Compensation?)

Even if you were able to claim (I know you can't) but most insurance excesses are a lot higher than £75, especially if you're only 19, and there would be no point.

I know it's a pain. I've had someone run into the side of my car, and we never found out who it was. I've also had my car keyed. I had to claim for that because it was 2 doors and 2 panels.

If you can find out who did it, (and they have any money), you can sue them for the expenses you have incurred.

Or if you report them to the police and get them charged and convicted the courts may order them to pay you. Make sure you tell the police how much compensation you want (as you cannot request this yourself from the court).

I would guess they jumped up onto the bonnet and ran over the roof.

In my experienced opinion......Dont Bother with any of it. ! !

Don't even think about informing the insurance company.
    They will just laugh.
Just push the dent out of the bonnet yourself.

You cannot claim for your own car if you have third party fire and theft.

Even if you had comprehensive insurance, the excess on your insurance policy will still be high = and you will still wind up paying for the damages yourself anyway.

    Compensation ?
    Don't bother ! !
It was probably an unemployed yob with no money.

My car door window was smashed in by a drug addict looking for money way back in early January.
He was arrested further along the road breaking into other cars and convicted the next day.

I was awarded a measly £ 100 for the damage by the court, which incidently would not cover half the bill.

Because he has no money, I will not receive any until he pays the court, which looks unlikely in the near, or even the far, future.

So I would say to you........Push the dent out of the bonnet and forget it ever happened.
