New buyers would probably be putting new flooring down.Write to the current owner.Speak to the new owners once the place is sold, mention that you have 'been in dispute' with the previous owner (could cause issues if they haven't declared that prior to sale) and that you would be really grateful if they could have the floorboards looked at - and offer to help towards the cost to remedy.0

Thanks for your comment. To be clear, the noise will appear for months. Sometimes many months. Then it disappears for many months. It is real goblin. It is like nails scratching on a blackboard.MultiFuelBurner said:
