Premier Parking cheque returned Debt Recovery Plus

Hi, I have honestly spent a while now searching round this forum but still hiding under my desk for fear of the complaints I'm going to get for posting what has probably been dealt with before !
So, I capitulated and sent a cheque to Premier Parking following a FINAL REMINDER ! I know, I shouldn't have done it, but I did.
But they sent it back !
Said they are no longer able to accept my payment as my cases are now being dealt with by their collection agency.
I recognise I had just missed their 14 day deadline for payment of the final reminder (by 3 days). I also received letters from Debt Recovery Plus after I'd sent my cheque to Premier Parking, but before receiving their reply.
So, based on what I've read here, I'm going to wait it out to see if they bother to take this to court.
I have no case in my view as the driver hadn't paid and parked (for a drop off) just under half an hour on two occasions (different cars).
If they do eventually decide to take these to court, I think it's a pretty reasonable case that I tried to pay and they were unreasonable in not accepting payment.
My question is, have I now limited my potential costs even if this does go to court and is found in favour of Premier Parking, because I'll always have the back stop that I tried to pay and they rejected it?

You only have to pay costs if you lose in court.
(The rejected offer won't impact on costs up or down)0 -
What idiots Premier are ....... DRP debt collectors are the biggest load of rubbish roaming from sewer to sewer
I assume the cheque was returned with a covering letter ?
Perfect to show a judge that you attempted to pay
Some of these companies even say that once court papers have been issued they cannot be stopped .... UTTER STUPID RUBBISH
One therefore must assume that Premier are knowingly trying to hike up the amount by probably another £60 which is the normal rubbish that DRP add on.
DRP CAN BE IGNORED .... NO CONTACT WITH DRP even if they continue to send you secondhand bog paper from one of their sewers.
Let us see if Premier will be so stupid to take this further.
A judge would not like such disgraceful methods
How stupid for Premier to refuse payment when they will no doubt be whooped in court and you claim costs against them
They had their chance to accept payment, no more chances now0 -
Thanks beamerguy
Yes, I have their two line letter, with cheque stapled, directing me to DRP.
So the long wait begins ....0
