Faulty Tv, just out of warrenty, please help!

We bought a Samsung plasma TV on the 21st of Feb last year for £910, after around four months of use the TV developed a fault, a line appeared across the TV. We called Samsung support and after a lot of confusion they sent an authorized repairer out and replaced the TV panel.
Everything has been fine up until yesterday, there is now a line on the panel again going in the opposite direction, and the warranty is about 2 weeks out of date...

I have read on the forums that faults after the warranty are dealt with the dealer, not Samsung, unfortunately we bought the TV from comet :-(
Im wandering if anyone have been in a similar situation or can offer any advice, i paid for the TV with my virgin credit card, i however cant find anything about extended warranties.
I believe the warranty only covers you for one year from when the TV was delivered, i cant find anything about the warranty if replacement parts have been fitted???

Have you tried calling Samsung? I had an issue about 2 or 3 weeks out of the warranty and they fixed it FOC as you expect a £900 tv to last longer than a year and 2 weeks.

Samsung may not have been paid by Comet, if so you're stuffed.

Actually, you're stuffed anyway and are relying on good will from Samsung - good luck.

You are covered, via SoGA, through your CC issuer under S75 of the Consumer Credit Act, they are jointly liable with the retailer, and as your retailer has gone bust they will be your next port of call for a remedy, however you will need to prove the set is inherently faulty and not down to misuse, this would be in the form of an independant engineers report and if successful should be refunded by your CC issuer.

You may need to prove it is an inherent fault - but talk to the credit card company first about whether they require this.

Yes but the odds are the the card issuer will require one. as some/most retailers would, it being over the 6 month rule.

Wow thanks for the replies guys, I've emailed samsung and still waiting a reply.
With the TV been hung on the wall, I don't see how I could of caused this fault, especially seen as its the exact same fault which they repaired last time.
Next time I get a expensive TV I'm definitely getting an extended warranty of some sort!
I'll post back when I know a bit more, thanks again guys!

I would also start the ball rolling with your CC issuer under S75 as Samsung may not be willing to play ball as you are out of warranty.
Not sure, but don't some Samsung products come with 2 year warranties? Maybe you should check your paperwork.
