Payment not showing in account

Hi, can anyone shed some light on this?

Sold an item Sunday but had not recieved payment, noticed yesterday that the payment was showing as pending which i have never come across before.

sent the buyer a message to ask if there was a problem his end, i have sent at least 3 payments this week so thought it would not be a problem with my account.

Had a message off him to say he had cancelled his first payment and had resubmitted it and he has said

my paypal account states there is a temporary hold on your account for some reason

I have logged into my account and there is no mention of anything being on hold, i have had no email off paypal.

He says he has paid others and his feedback does back this up!

Can anyone shed any light, i looked at paypal and it does mention that they sometimes hold payment for 21 days but would they not let me know if this was the case?

Thanks in advance for help and sorry its a bit rambling!

  • More questions than answers really.

Can a buyer cancel a payment made? I thought the only one a buyer could cancel, is when the money was unclaimed, (that doesn't sound like the case here).

Would a buyer get a message to say there was a temporary hold on a sellers account? Never heard of that happening on the 21 day hold thing.

Off the top of my head.
Paypal investigating the payment? (you should of got an email).
Your account has been limited? (again you should of got an email).
    echeque?

    Have you phoned Paypal?

Do a simple check first of all- just in case. Go through the sold item as though you were going to relist it, and double check you have the right paypal ID. If you have mistyped your id or are using an old template it might be wrong.

An echeque or a payment subject to a 21 day hold should still be showing in your paypal account, just not in your balance.

Did you receive any 'payment received' email from paypal at all?

We've all done it, that's why I always get people to check. It is a blooming nuisance to sort out though.

Buyer can't now pay via ebay, you need their paypal ID to raise an invoice for the goods, alternatively give them your paypal id and ask them to pay direct.

Any attempt to go via ebay will just see it going to the wrong address again.

People would be less likely to pay to .con :rotfl:
