Hi everyone! I'm making stuff for my daughters 2nd birthday party tomorrow, and I'm in the midst of making lamb koftas (with beef mince instead, lol!) thinking I'll just leave the breadcrumbs out for my mother in law's as she has coeliac. Then I realised that you use flour to stop them sticking to the pan...
Can anyone else suggest an alternative suitable for coeliac that I can use to coat them? The only things I have that look like flour are skimmed milk powder and ready mix plaster, but she might notice the latter. I feel bad for her as the majority of stuff is homemade pizza and sandwiches, so I wanted to do her something different. But now I'm panicking! Do you think they'll be ok without flour or anything?
All advice appreciated! The pans are at the ready, lol!
Thanks so much everyone
Lucy

You could try cornflour or gram (chickpea) flour if you can get some.0

Thanks loads! :T My mum's just about to set off to the supermarket on her way here so I've phoned and asked her to get some chickpea flour! Thank god for mums, I'd never have managed without her with two kids under 2 and a party to sort out, lol. I'm so rubbish at organising things.
I can't tell you how grateful I am. Thank you for preventing me from imploding my mother in law!!!! (This time, heh heh...!!!!)

You're not wrong!!!! I'll give that a go, I think our Morrisons is quite good so gram flour should be on it's way, but I might try the oven when I make em for us again, as I'm on a post child birth diet (once the party's over, ahem!)
Thanks!

The other thing you could use is rice flour, our local weigh and save does this.0

Our weigh and save shop disappeared years ago, which is such a shame. I'll note rice flour too in my recipe book though for future visits!0

gram flour is brilliant by the way its meant for batters (like onion bhajis etc) makes great pancakes0

gram flour, polenta, rice flour, or gluten free flour you can buy this from anywhere nowadays in the special diets section. I think if you use lots of oil and turn them freq they should be ok without it xxNot setting myself any comp targets this year, didnt seem to work last year!!! £120.98/£2008
