Surely these must be first time pregnancy worrries? All this talk of not wanting the midwifes to laugh at you, or what if there is a dishy doctor, and feeling better for being tidy down there.

How does this compare with oh she pooed all over the bed, I slipped in her blood on the floor, she stunk of sweat and screamed like a banshee but hey that's ok her lady garden was well tidy.

OP just get your OH to do it, it's nothing he hasn't seen before, it gets a lot more personal in the labour room. :o

No I was the same with my last which was also my 5th baby..
I had an elective section but you still need to be tidy, they still have your muff out in theatre...

The bit you are referring to is at the end, the dignity bit is at the beginning of birth, by the end you're past caring..
    I think that's the difference...

....just thinking that when you look back over this thread in years to come you will laugh at it, (like the rest of us mums already ;) ).....if you really are bothered about being 'tidy' then get it done prperly at a salon, you wont regret it and they`ll do a better job than you`ll ever do....it`ll be trim neatly and you wont have to worry....good luck with the baby....it`ll all be worth it in the end....xx

I'm 8 months pregnant and can't see my bikini line or reach it comfortably to em...tidy it up :o, I don't want to go to a salon for a waxing, is it ok to use veet cream when pregnant as I could probably manage to slap some of that on? What do all you other pregnant women do?

Can't you just put on a Telly Savalas joke shop slap head on your love tub to fool your hubby?

I would reccomend anyone to shave themselves/get their OH's to shave them before labour. After my daughter was born by emergency c-section the uncomfortableness caused by being shaved by a cheap, nasty razor quickly gave me as much hassle as lochia and all the other associated gubbins. Extremely unpleasant.

Tbh i didnt find the dredded bic dry shave to be that bad, and the Lochia was no worse than a hevier than normal period.
P.s. although I think I read they prefer you not to shave yourself for a c-section, the razors they use are vicious and they won't use any foam etc. not nice :(

They dont use foam as they are going to cut along that area and want to prevent infection, not cause it x

I ended up having 4 sections 3 were emergency ones and the elective one i was stuck in the hospital for anyway, i asked my oh to do mine for the elective section and was caught by a midwife (i had my own room) who did nothing more than giggle while trying to apologise while continuing to porceed to put me on a monitor......... i didnt even flinch by this point any dignaty i had left was left by the door the morning i was admitted
It is better to stay silent and be thought a fool, than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt. :p

When i was in labour 5 years ago i was well embarrased by the state of my "lady garden" people say you could not care less but it was not my case, that is just not me.
With this pregnancy I am determined to get a brazilian wax every 2 months if it possible, i really want everything gone by the time i am in labour, it was a bit repulsive to have to clean and be a mess down there after giving birth ( i am hairy, i am south american).

If anything get it waxed, you don't want to be itchy down there after birth!
