Agreed. If they really have something valid, then they can write.

If you BF has a common name, then it's quite possible they are "fishing" for someone else anyway.

Thanks Fermi - I know you guys are right but I'm just a bit concerned / curious as to how they have got MY mobile number and they are asking for a MRS John Smith?

I guess there's no point worrying about it as I'll most likely never find out.

I have had some recent dealings with them.

I had a missed call on my mobile and when I Googled the number it came up Frederickson International.

They then started calling 3 to 4 times a day and I point blank refused to deal with them on the phone.

A couple of days later I got a letter claiming they were collecting a debt from Natwest.

I did have a Natwest account which was closed in 2002 and the figures just didn't add up.

They kept calling and calling, sometimes a person and sometimes a recorded message.

I sent them a letter by registered post disputing the debt and asking them to provide proof.

The first letter I sent to the PO Box address on their correspondence which they denied receiving even though it had been signed for.

I sent a second letter, again by registered post to this address

    Frederickson International Limited

    1st Floor Persimmon House,
    De Havilland Drive,
    Brooklands Business Park,
    Weybridge, Surrey,
    KT13 0NT

This was received and signed for on Friday last week and as yet I have had no further calls or letters.

Basically Frederickson buy up debts that they know they have no chance of recovering and try to trick you or bully you into paying something.

Thanks SSB, will be interesting to see if they persue it any further, but as I said, I can't think of anything that it could legitimately related to.

I have just checked my credit report, and my score is 917 / 999. Pretty good I guess, and no negative marks (or unpaid debts) against me.
The score is only slightly more meaningful than a horoscope. And irrelevant to a healthcheck of your files for wrongfully attributed debt.

I had a couple of years ago with McKenzie Hall, they were looking for my brother in relation to a statute-barred debt of course.

He had lived with me for 6 months, but when my credit got affected by an ex of his we did a letter of dissociation. This was in about 2002.

So in 2009/10, they came to my current address, as this is a new build there is no way they got his name addressed to my house in any other way than by using a dissociated name/address. A letter pointing out that the Information Commissioners were aware of what I'd reported and I've never heard from them since.

In essence, they are very good at connecting dots even ones they shouldn't have access to but remember the 3 golden rules and you should be fine.

    1. Do everything in writing.
    2. Don't ever talk to them on any phone, work, home, mobile, none, no phone ever.
    3. DO NOT TALK TO THEM ON THE PHONE.

All DCA's are the same so substitute Fredrickson for McKenzie Hall - same behaviour.
