    ~£100 is the going rate for a basic 15" TFT these days. Now if it had been a 17" it might have got some people excited :)

    and the 'special' online price is only £2 cheaper than the store price :rolleyes:

    15" = £88 (Dell)
    17" = £128
    19" = £180

    Yes, but these cowboys just put the P&P up to compensate. You used to be able to get the 15" Dell delivered for £6.95 +vat, now it's on 'special' it's £12.33 +vat.
    All the World is a Stage; and I'm going through a difficult one at the moment!

    And just to add, if you do not buy the 'guaranteed no dead pixel' "package" for ONLY £15+vat, then you are gauranteed to get a TFT with dead pixels.
    So all those that do not buy the "package" get the ones that they have confirmed as faulty!

    I would avoid them for this reason alone.

    I think it's poor that Aria will not accept TFT's back unless there's a certain amount of dead pixels that the manufacturer's stipulate.

    One dead pixel on arrival is still a fault and should be refunded or exchanged by the seller in accordance with your statutory rights. The terms of the manufacturer's dead pixel warranty should only be enforced once things have gone past a reasonable returns period, ie one one month.

    Buy a TFT from a high street shop with one dead pixel and you'd probably have no problems returning it, so why should mail order be any different?

    i think it is the manufacturer that sets the % of dead pixles for each model.

    there is a website that lists each model and the % if anyone knows a link ?

    i agree that the LG 15" is not the cheapest, but for dead pixle % its hard to beat.

    redfox please can you think before condeming other members posts with rolling eyes smilies, you are meant to be the board guide thanks ;)

    whether you believe it or not, the rolling eyes was aimed at Comet for their cheek at calling a £2 deduction "a special online price".

    I know it is. The point i'm making is that one dead pixel effectively makes the screen faulty and the seller is obliged to replace or refund it regardless of what the manufacturer states. The warranty should only come into effect like any other guarantee after a reasonable time as elapsed and not from day one of receiving the screen.

    Roll away. Seems a bit of a picky thing to highlight to me.
