I bought the optional soundbar from here for £12.92 delivered when it was £35 + delivery from Dell.
£111.63 gets you a Dell 17" from same place (but it all depends if 'refurbished to new' means what it says). All the World is a Stage; and I'm going through a difficult one at the moment!0 -
If aria or anyone else took your monitor back with 1 dead pixel, they would then be stuck with a monitor that they could not sell, because they couldn't return it to the manufacturer as they would say it needs 6 dead pixels before its faulty. This is not aria being awkward, they are all the same.
I have now bought 6 tft's through aria, both for work and friends, I have not payed for the pixel checking service and I haven't had a single dead pixel.0 -

I know, but if you buy from the high street and have 1 or 2 dead pixels they'll take it back and refund or exchange it as faulty coz they have to (statutory rights and all that) whether the manufacturer approves it or not.
The warranty side shouldn't apply to how the monitor arrives, it's the sellers responsibility at that stage.0 -
Well if you buy online you have 7 days to return it by law. So if its got any dead pixels you could return it under the distant selling regulations..
But many of the online companies try to flout this law - often illegally charging restocking fees or making you return goods at your cost by a courier of their choice ( one which they make profit from).. Either way it costs you to return the goods ( which defeats the purpose of the regulations)..
Its much easier , simpler and cheaper returning goods to a shop. Comet have some good prices on TFTs..
And buying from Aria without the dead pixel check obviously means your chance of getting one with dead pixels is greater than if you bought from a supplier that does not do dead pixel checks.. Personally if i recieved a box that had clearly been opened , i would not be happy ( cos its probably one that they found with dead pixels within the tolerence level). Beware of the the Dell TFTs that they provide the warranty on , because there are lots of bad reports about their poor customer service. Its OK for the Dell models with on-site warranty though( this is provided by Dell) or other monitors they sell with decent manufacturers warranties.0
