Tuesday 13/12/2011 - UK CPI and RPI Inflation fall in November

The UK measures of Inflation, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the Retail Price Index (RPI) have both fallen. CPI fell to 4.8% from 5.0% and RPI fell to 5.2% from 5.4%, which is being accredited partly to a slowdown in the price rises of food and drink.

It is also expected that Inflation will fall sharply over the next few months as the VAT rise is factored out, closer to the Bank of England target rate of 2.0%.

Well this thread is going to get precious few posts this year.

This threads been up for just over 2 hours, and we're north of 40,000 new jobs already.;)

But seriously, it's amazing how much good news there is out there that never gets posted on any of the boards here, let alone the doom mongering hotspots such as hpc.

No wonder so many of the bears suffer from 'confirmation bias'.

Are a few handpicked news articles enough for you to suggest the coast is now clear and the UK on the mend then?

Each to his own I guess.

Personally, I feel the weight of one single news article about the Euro is enough to outstrip any of these in terms of where they will send the overall economy. Call me a doom monger if you like. But that's just the way I see the weight of the articles.
