Oh dear. All that time waiting for Bentley prices to fall and now you've found you can't get one because the waiting list is getting longer.

The bentley thing shows that the 'economic crisis' doesnt appear to be affecting high end luxury items (no suprise, rich get richer poor poorer so on) although i suppose its good that in theory theyll be paying a bit more tax and help a bit with employment but on the kinda scale we need this is minimal. It just highlights the wealth divide IMO.

The manufacturing decline less than expected, still a decline no matter how you look at it so no one appears to be gaining?!? Just not losing as much.

And with regards to the german labour market i fail to see how that has any substantial impact on our own economy?!

Wouldnt have a bentley even if i could afford one, a humble man id go for an atom v8.

By the way im not a pessimist just none of those articles shout recovery in any way to me.

Jaguar Land Rover to expand Merseyside plant and add 1,500 jobs.

The premium car maker has also confirmed it is building a £355m engine plant in Wolverhampton and is redeveloping its factory in Solihull.

It has hired thousands of new employees over the last 12 months to launch new models, including for the Evoque at Halewood last year.

Its sales are up 30pc year-on-year. It is understood the company is on course to post new record profits for the 2012 financial year and could even make £1.5bn.

JLR employees were called into work over Christmas to work a special shift to help keep up with demand.

An expansion of Halewood, which employs 3,000 people at present, will take the UK another step towards producing a record number of cars.

The country produced 1.9m cars a year in its manufacturing heyday in the early 1970s.

However, it could break that annual record within five to 10 years following £4bn of investment in the last 12 months from car makers such as Toyota, BMW and JLR.

That wasnt in the OP was it?! Also jaguar stil got to be considered luxury cars, no?!

As for the 1500 jobs, i bet i can find more businesses closing in the last 3 months that have lost as many if not more jobs than that.

Also werent jag one of the original companies that nearly went bust due to the recession and have had to be refinanced, reinvested etc etc to keep it afloat, the christmas hours make up for the 'holiday' the staff were given a year or so ago because demand plummeted for their cars!

A stellar example of intervention working admirably, as they're now standing on their own two feet, in growth, and approaching record sales and profits.
