Alliance and Leicester

Just a word of warning if you are thinking of switching... Alliance and Leicester will only pay out the £100 if you have direct debits to transfer. If you don't, you get nothing.Unless you set one up in the first 12 weeks. All mine are on my joint account so I swapped over, then got the bad news! They do mention switching over direct debits but aren't up front enough to let you know the score if you don't have any. It's in the very small print... Read carefully

If you had a look on this forum about switching to A&L you would probably had earned £100.

I had setup a paypal direct debit and switched to A&L and got £100 within 3 weeks:beer:

    Oh no. :(

I just applied for and was accepted for this account this morning. The account I am switching from does not have any Direct Debits on it. Only Standing Orders and Bill Payments. Does this mean I won't qualify for the incentive?

According to their terms and conditions you wont get the incentive. You can give a try by creating a paypal direct debit as soon as possible. You have time until A&L requests your bank which is more likely atleast a week from now. I was in the same situation and I created paypal direct debit and by the time A&L requested from bank it was on the list.

Give it a try for £100.

    Cheers

Brilliant! Thanks for that! I have quickly changed my broadband Direct Debit! Hopefully that will go through before the Alliance get my details. Jeez, this site is helpful!
