October Ebay challenge?

Is there an October eBay challenge? I did a search but couldn't find anything.

My first reaction was: it's October already!?

I can't do the challenge, as my PC, containing all the Turbolister stuff, photos, ETC is kaput. So the only items I can list are the ever unpopular unsold items in My Ebay...

There are long running threads on debt free wannabe about selling on ebay as a sort of competition to clear debts..not sure why it is on the debt free board, but there it is.

We all love a challenge on here :j and many of us have sold on ebay for years and can often offer advice and suggestions.

Have you tried Amazon for books as well?

  • If I have something I'm not sure of I do searches on both ebay and google. If I can't find it on either then it goes to the next car boot sale!

Like rose-sparky says look at complete ditems on ebay and google for simila ritems to get a feel for price.

Also when you do list protect yourself with a sensible start price, don't be tempted to list at a low price and expect it to go up to a realistic sale price, sometimes things have a habit of selling on the firts bid which is horribly disappointing. Check your weight and check your postal prices and make sure you quote enough to be covered against loss in the post.

I'm no good with silver, but I'm sure there will be someone along shortly who can tell you where to look online for hallmark details etc.

  • My ebay sales have just dissappeared since Magic Meg's rebalancing of the marketplace, I'm doing better selling elsewhere. I shall close my store when the listings expire at the end of the month. I see no point in paying for nothing, so Ebay has lost another seller and also a buyer because I'm no longer going to patronise them I shall buy elsewhere.
