It is possibly the biggest scam in the world.. They say you get free texts but then send you premium rate texts that is a pain in the !!!!!! to opt out of.. I ended up spending £6.50 on premium rate texts for sending about 4 texts to NZ. It would have been cheaper to send the texts via my provider.
pff.
Could I avoid this happening by registering an old PAYG mobile phone that doesnt have any credit on it?

I have tried numerous sites to send texts to South Africa, but so far none has worked for me.
On my present Vodafone contract I am paying 24p for international texts, and as I have friends all around the world, many of whom are not online, I have tried to find a cheaper way to text. The best I have found now, and the one I am going for, is getting one of the free PAYG sims from O2, and signing up for their International Bolt-on deal, at a one-off of £4.99. This way you get cheaper international calls from your mobile (altho one can get much better deals for calls via a landline), and only 10p per text. Quite a saving for me, to be sure!

the following website is one i use for Pakistan and a few other countries and works to all the people I have sent to, but i did read somewhere that it does not support the odd network in some countries due to roaming agreements between different networks.vjain wrote:Please can anyone let me know where I can send international texts online for free (especially to Mauritius and India where I have relatives).

Thanks for that. I've just signed up! I plan to send texts to Mauritius and India. Has anyone else had any experience with this site? The last thing I want to do is join, pay for credits and find its unreliable!greenstreetprince wrote:the following website is one i use for Pakistan and a few other countries and works to all the people I have sent to, but i did read somewhere that it does not support the odd network in some countries due to roaming agreements between different networks.
