Hello,
I've read much of the advice very kindly offered on this forum, and more or less know the answer to my question, but would be grateful for any insight/reassurance into my own situation:
I received a PCN from G24 demanding £50, which I ignored (as I was not the driver at the time), then subsequently received two letters from CCS Collect - the second of which was a '72 hour notice of home visit', which naturally, never materialised - and have now received a fifth letter, this time from what looks like a legal firm - DWF LLP. This letter states that 'legal proceedings may be commenced' if I don't pay up by the end of August. Interestingly, their letter was not signed by an actual person, but by DWF LLP itself. Looking online, DWF appear to be a legitimate legal firm, and so I would like to hear any opinions on these two queries:
1) I have no intention of paying this invoice - am I right in continuing to ignore these threats?
2) Does anyone know why a legal firm would even take any action against me? Surely it makes no sense to pursue me in court for £50?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Common sense says to ignore these letters, but once you a receive a threat from what appears to be a solicitor, you start to doubt yourself...

I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. A good rule of thumb is to note the number of letters you receive before you get several saying they MAY take you to court.
If they thought they would have a chance and win, they would just go ahead and do it after sending a letter before action.
Ignore until (or if) you get an actual summons from a court - and even then check that it is actually genuine, since some companies send out copies of court papers that have not actually be registered.0 -

Just see my post on another thread about certain solicitors who will take on any work, regardless how dodgy it is.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
What is the best way to handle this, is it to just ignore them or send in a letter stating, that 'I wasn't the driver at the time..' what is the best approach.
Also what was the outcome with Captain Antispam issue?
