Dont you just love it when you get that 'this buyer will be a problem' feeling?

Just a mindless rant really, but it normally makes me feel better.

Sold some spare tickets I had for a concert thats in 2 weeks time on ebay, they ended tonight.

The buyer paid so I messaged him to thank him for his speedy payment and explained that I would get the tickets shipped to him once I had them myself (the ticket agency never sends them out until a week before the concert, so Im expecting them this week to be honest). Plus I had all of this in the listing.

I got a message straight back saying 'I will need these tickets asap as its a present for my daughters birthday which is this weekend'. I've written back to explain I will ship as soon as I get them, which should be this week but may be early next week and pointed out this was mentioned in the listing. Ive just had another message to say 'we shall see'.

Ugh, I hope they turn up this week else I can see problems!!

Yet another problem with concert ticket sales is that to be covered by paypal sellers protection you have to post out within 7 days of receiving payment.

To be fair, why are they a problem buyer? They bid, paid immediately and are communicative. It's fair for them to assume, two weeks before a concert that you should have them - perhaps you might have received them during the course of the listing. Don't penalise them because you can't meet the terms of the sale.

Did you get a email receipt? Maybe forward that to him so he has proof you have the tickets?

This is an odd situation in that a scam buyer (and I am not suggesting that is the case here) may well be aware that the seller loses protection if they can't ship within 7 days, so may use that for their own benefit.

  • I read your post exactly as Mscrow did.

There are so many ticket scammers, I think id be the same as your buyer, who obviously read your listing differently, the same as myself and mscrow read this one.

It just annoys me when I clearly mentioned in the listing that I would have them about 4 days before the event (this is common for this ticket agency) yet he still expects them to be with him before that.

Im just hoping they are nice and ship them early!

I have a lovely problem buyer at the moment too, so far I've had "my paypal account isn't working", their "disabled son had to be rushed to hospital for a major operation" and an overdue "postle order (sic.)" that was supposedly sent first class....

I'm counting down the days on the non-paying bidder strike case
