getting statements from your bank for default charges, a question

Hi can anyone tell me if when writing to your bank to get a list of all default charges you need to specify further information.
For example there was a time in 03 when someone told me (at the time barclays were hitting you with £30 i think for unautharised od) that if you simply called to complain an unautharised charge it would be refunded.
I did this 4 or 5 times and they did at the time.......subsequently once everyone started doing this they imposed a limit (one 'goodwill gesture refund every 6 months or some thing it was).
So anyroad when im writing off to the data protection commissioner to get the last 6 years information on default charges will i have to specify that i only want to know about those charges not already refunded?
Also is the law on my side? I.e. can i tell the bank modifying martins template to ask (using the Data Protection Act) for a list of all non-refunded default charges? Or is it just charges plain and simple I am entitled to under DPA.
I wrote off to them today asking for non refunded default charge list using a template modified from marting but will they respond by giving me what i want?
Help please.

sorry in actuality the address I wrote to was:

I think that is what you call a typographical err
so yeagh wrote to them asking for a list of all defaults unauthorised overdraft charges that they have not already refunded to me as goodwills.
will they reply with this do you think? One thing I have not noted on this site is any mention of the one off refunds that im sure many people had for these charges years ago. on a case by case basis.
I sent a £10 cheque with this letter 6 days ago:
ps this letter below DID have my account details which i have no removed. Its the template off of this site basically which i updated a bit
[/FONT] "I am writing to request a fully comprehensive list of all the non-refunded default charges for direct debit, unauthorised overdrafts and standing orders I have paid since 27 July 2001. That is to say It is my recollection that in some cases over the years you have refunded said charges several days later after I contacted you as a goodwill gesture.
So to recap I am requesting information on those default charges for direct debit, unauthorised overdrafts and standing orders I have paid since 27 July 2001 that were not subsequently refunded, revoked, or otherwise returned into my bank account.
If you are unable to provide this data, I will accept a copy of my statements; I understand that statements on their own are not covered by the Data Protection Act 1998, yet I’m not requesting the statements per se, but details on the non-refunded charges, which I’m entitled to by law. Please find enclosed a cheque for the maximum statutory charge of £10.
I look forward to your response within 40 days, as Barclays Bank is obliged to reply under the Data Protection Act. If not I shall seek remedy from the Information Commissioner."
so you think my reply will arrive with this information?0 -
Personally, I think that was way too long winded. I recently asked for a sar from NatWest with a simple straight forward letter suggested on the Information Commissioners website. In hindsight I would tweak with account details on it. However, I think you have been clear in what you have asked them.0

I know that when I got my list of charges from Lloyds TSB, it showed that there was a credit a couple of days after a charge was taken.
I would imagine that your charges list will show the same, and you'll just have to miss out the charges that are shown as refunded when you make your claim.
The banks aren't going to make anything easy for anyone, even if you ask.0 -
so how long did you have to wait nykied before your bank wrote back to you with charges listed?0
