Painting a garage floor

My garage floor was painted by the previous owner (15 years ago) but the paint has lifted/worn away in most of the wear areas and beneath the car tyres. In the non wear areas it is not great but OK. I now want to paint it again but need to remove most of the original paint before doing so otherwise the new paint is clinging to the old paint and will lift. What is a good way to remove most of the old paint? Hire shop has suggested an angle grinder with some sort of wire brush attachment. Also what is a good floor paint and sealer?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Previously painted concrete, brick or stone: Brush thoroughly with a wire brush to remove loose or flaking paint. Sand down and wipe clean. Treat any bare surfaces as above0 -
