I need to buy a sat nav, only need a basic one not Europ maps, etc.,
anyone know where the cheapest deal might be?

  • Just a reminder to use a cashback website like quidco for extra saving. Look who has best combination of cashback and overall price. And always include p&p in calculation of total cost

    My sister got a good one.. think it is a Navman.. and about £87 from John Lewis. That was a few months ago now though, there may be different offers now. Always good to check there though.

    Will it run the latest tomtom software though? The old PPC version 6 is very outdated now.

    i just bought the tom tom one from halfords, it was on special offer at £99, its fantastic, I cant recommend it enough :D

    Mine is running TT. I think it's version 6. Outdated? Perhaps I am missing something, but they haven't built many new roads around here in the last few years.

    I am not sure what the big deal is with having the latest version myself? For £50 delivered, it' now runs TT, MioMap and has full european maps too.

    If you're naughty with the naughty downloaded software, the best thing available with the latest maps is Nav N Go Igo 8 (Igo and Miomap are pretty much the same things.) Tomtom version 7 has been cracked, but I believe this requires the newer versions of windows CE.
