"SD" is the type of memory card that you pop into the camera to store the images. "SDHC" is exactly the same, except "High Capacity". As far as I am aware, the only differences you will see between the two is a difference in capacity (the number of photos you can store, essentially, SDHC being larger in size) and price.
EDIT: I should add that there are probably significant differences between them, not least probably the way the cards are formatted, but none of these issues should affect your digital camera, it'll be for other applications where these may be a problem or significant advantage/disadvantage. Also, SDHC cards are not compatible in some older devices, so others who are thinking of getting one for the higher capacity should check manuals.Super geek.0 -
A 4gb card will be SDHC - the HC stands for High capacity, as there is a 2gb limit to the file system used by standard SD cards0

oh rite ok
so for a 4GB card id probably want an SDHC?
were is the cheapest place to find one of these then?
thanks0 -
4gB will be available in standard SD. They're available most places. Shop around using Google .co.uk first, searching "4gb sd card" should bring them up at around 15 quid.
On a side note: I bought one of these two years ago and it cost me fifty quid. Now they're down to 15!Super geek.0 -

Apart from all the technical difference, file formatting etc (whatever diference that might actually be) A real life difference for the average user is that you card reader may not read it.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!
