I have a Nat West 0% coming to an end with £5k outstanding on £6k limit, also have £7k out of £7.5k on Virgin at 0% (started March) and £1.5k out of £9k on Nationwide.
I Need to transfer the Nat West balance to a 0% deal and would also like to free up come cash for transfer to a bank account so am looking for a credit limit of approx £10k, any suggestions on the best BT card to apply for with a likelylood of that sort of credit limit for a good credit record, home owner and salary of £40k +
From looking at the issuers I assume none of the RBS stable as I wont be able to transfer the Nat West balanace so probably looking at Capital One (just how hard are they on new cards ?), Halifax or Egg, any views on these cards.
Thanks

To transfer money to your current account you'll need to use a card that has a SBT facility. Egg Money is a good card for this (though it does not have a 0% deal), but it allows a positive balance, so you can do a BT to egg money and then to your bank account.
C1 - My Dad got declined because of his "credit rating", but he has a spotless one. (was 1 credit card with a ~£14K limit, and a few loans).
Halifax gave me a bit of a low limit to begin with, but that's now been increased. (I use it for 0% on purchases).
Barclaycard might be good, but I think they only give a limit of up to £5K normally.
You could always get 2 cards too.0 -
Halifax All In One for your 0% balance for 10 months, it also has 0% on purchases for 10 months so you can spend on it as you make the minimum repayments to keep it maxed out - which should free up some cash. Doesn't have a SBT facility though.

Dont need to spend on the card so really looking for the longest 0% and the lowest fee that will give the required credit limit, anyone got any experience of if Egg or MNBA Platinum give decent limits or if having a Virgin card will hinder the MNBA application0

My Egg Money card came with a comparatively good limit, as did my C1 Platinum card (both the same limit). Halifax limit wasn't far behind and HSBC limit was pants. These were all 0% on purchases cards between 2 and 7 months ago.
For some reason MBNA group (incl Virgin) don't like me and repeatedly turn down my applications I make to them about every 6-12 months. No idea why.

I have a 8.5k limit with Virgin (MBNA) and they are forever throwing 0% offers at me (2.95% fee i think?) ...i know it doesnt work this way but my salary vs yours pro rata i would expect you could get the limit you want out of them...0

Thanks for the advice went for Egg in the end and was given a slightly disappointing limit of £5.5k but there is nothing in the application where you say what you may want or to BT, anybody managed to get an increase out of Egg or am I going to have to think about another card for the extra or is it worth asking Virgin for an increase having only been with them for 4/5 months0

Also went for a Halifax card and was given a limit of £8.8k so that covers the BT and dont need to worry about this for another year or so !!, thanks for the advice0

Strange aint it?
I have the same problem with Tesco and Amex yet have successfully got other (arguably superior) cards!Best Regards,
