Calling all Brita filter (or similar) owners

Does anyone know where to get the new Brita filters from (the oval Maxtra type)? We were sent a free replacement kettle from Brita when ours blew up but the new one has the new type of filters and I don't know where to buy replacements from. Thanks.

Tesco and Boots both sell them as do Argos (840/6912) and Debenhams.

I have used this company Watercoolersdirect.com find here and they have been excellent. Quick delivery and much cheaper than Argos etc if bought in bulk, there is even a facility where they will mail you to let you know when your current supply is about to run out.

a good way to see how it improves the water is to make a cup of tea with filtered water and one with water straight out the tap the filtered one is much lighter and clearer there is a massive diff

Hi, I drink at least five pints of water a day and have used Brita filters for about five years. I dislike the taste of tap water and find that although it is slightly annoying to pay nearly £4 per cartridge (I stock up when they're on offer and get multipacks) the taste of the water is far superior to that straight from the tap, and using flitered water also helps prolong the life of appliances that come into contact with water. I have a filter jug and a filter kettle, and wouldn't ever go back to non-filtered (tea tastes grim at work with tap water!) I have tried cheaper alternatives to Brita cartridges (e.g. Boots) but have found that they are of a lower quality. You get what you pay for...

I've got a Boots own brand fridge one, our water is soft but tastes "bleachy" to me, I can always tell when the cartridge has done enough. I usually get the Boots ones on 3 for 2 but any "universal" cartridge fits. Some taste better than others though. It's all a question of experimentation. A basic model is plenty good enough.

I have had 2 Brita water filters with the timer and to be quite honest the timer hasnt lasted very long on either of them. I do like the filters though and yes there is a difference

I have a filter jug (cheap one bought from Lidl's)
Works great and yes I have noticed a distinct pleasant difference in taste.
Trying to drink more water...as I need to lose some weight.
Where or what is Home Bargains?
I would like to stock up on the cartridges..if they are this cheap.

We have a Brita filter which we've used for a couple of years. We replaced the old jug with a new one from Robert Dyas which came complete with 12 months of filters and a filter already with the jug. The cheaper ones from Home Bargains etc. are not bad but they don't last as long as the Brita ones do imo.

I couldn't find the deal we got but this one has 6 months of filters with the jug.
