Connection going back to local only

I am using dial up to connect on a Vista pc, probably not the best combination in the world. I asked about the problem earlier when it was also disconnecting me and would not stay stable for 5 minutes. I have had Telefonica out, and they found a problem with the line which has been fixed. The problem has majorly improved but not resolved. The connection still will slip back into Local only, which still connected to the ISP, (if you lift the phone and listen you can hear the normal modem noises). Sometimes I can disconnect and re-dial, other times it just will no disconnect and the only solution is to restart, which is very frustating as you can imagine.

Any thoughts on any settings which can cause this, or help this?

How can you be bothered waiting - is there no BBand available in your area?

Sorry, can't help with settings.

Not here full time so cannot justify paying for BBand for the whole year at 40€ per month for a 1gb line.
