Sent a parcel with DHL & Confused!

Hi

I hope it's ok to post here as I sold an item on ebay and then used DHL to send it. I measured the box and filled in the measurements on the booking sheet but now I'm worried as when I tracked the parcel it is showing as this...

Departed Depot 26/06/08 16:26 NORWICH SERVICE CENTRE Over Large 26/06/08 NORWICH SERVICE CENTRE Pick Up Manifest Scan 26/06/08 16:08 NORWICH SERVICE CENTRE Shipment Data Received 26/06/08 NORWICH SERVICE CENTRE
What does over large mean? I hope it doesn't mean what it sounds like as I want the parcel to arrive with my buyer promptly so I get good feedback!

Hope someone can help

Thanks

You may get a surcharge from DHL if it is over large, it shouldn't delay delivery.

thanks for the quick reply. I don't understnd how it is overlarge when I had to insert the measurements but at least the parcel should arrive with my customer.

It was 100x50x37 and weighed 6kg I used MH Direct Couriers to book, I entered details and they quoted the price.

Did you save a wee bit off your longest measurement?

Volumetric weight is 30kg so you are right on the limit!

I make it over 30kg (30.63) so that would trigger a surcharge.

Not sure how it works when you use an intermediary. DHL will want their money but whether they should be getting it from you or MH Direct I've no idea.

Should be OK at the max weight for DHL via MH Direct is 31kg. Not sure if this applies to volumetric weight though.

Thanks for this. I was assuming that 30kg was the maximum weight.

Hello and thanks for replies. The measurements I gave on here are the exact ones, I over estimated them on the actual booking form but only by a few cm's just to cover any dodgy measuring.

The parcel has been delivered and I haven't heard anything from the courier as yet so fingers crossed I don't get charged anymore
