    I would want to see prove of address, drivers licence and insurance cert that tells me they are insured fully comp to drive the car. All of this is unlikely so I would either drive it and carry out their instructions (like drive at 40mph and then brake hard etc, or take them to an empty car park so they can drive.

    Last time I did that, I asked them for the keys of the car they had come in.

    If my car came back damaged, they were going to have had a hell of a job getting their own car back, and they knew it!
