do you mean the drive isn't being detected?, there has been 2 versions of SATA so far, it may be your board is v1 and the drive is v2, some drives have a small jumper on the back to set them to the 1st sata standard, check the drive labelclick here to achieve nothing!0

Have set the drive up in raid. It boots from CD Rom but not from normal start up.
Will check out the version of the drive.....assume maker of drive's website has info on the jumpers??????Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Do you have SCSI in the bios?
If so you could try that as the first boot device.
Did you load the SATA drivers when you first installed Xp ?0 -

yup windows doesn't come with many raid drivers you'll need them on a floppy, plus u can't have a raid with only 1 drive, return the bios setting to SATA controller mode (ide)click here to achieve nothing!0 -
