Transport in London
Options
I'm planning a trip to London. I will be going by train, arriving in Paddington, having a hotel in the docklands area and going to the O2. I usually have taxi when I go to London but cannot afford the fares from Paddington to the docklands.
Which method of transportation do you reccomend for Paddington to Docklands? No tube as my friend doesn't like being in a small place with too many people. It'll just be the 2 of us. We'll be arriving midday and leaving the same time, during midweek.
Thank you!

Bus is probably the only other thing you can do.0

Bus and or DLR - most of which is above ground. However without kowing your exact destination in docklands, it's difficult to advice which bus etc. Your best bet is the TfL journey planner, it will give you a number of options for getting to your destination.

You could get the Hammersmith & City Line or Circle line, which is a full-size train rather than a tiny tube. Here is a picture of the interior

compare with the deep level tube trains

These lines would take you to either Bow Road or Monument stations, where it is an easy change to the DLR.
If you could give the postcode for your hotel we can advise you on an exact route.
Another option, is to get off the train to Paddington a few stops early, at Ealing Broadway, from where you can get the district line. If your friend doesn't like confined spaces/crowds etc this may be better.0
