How much interest do you pay on your mortgage per day?

Well, right now it's 56 pence per day. Next month it'll be 31 pence, then in October less than a ha'penny (and in fact it will be nothing at all, because MFD will have arrived).

That sounds like bragging, so hang on a sec and I'll look up the total interest paid...

...and it's just over £26,000 since December 2000. Sobering indeed, but imagine how it would be if interest rates were at the levels they were when I bought my first flat in 1990 - 14.5% I seem to recall.

    £9.50 per day roughly.

Although I am well pleased that this year we have made an extra £1400 in capital repayments!

When I think of the interest we have paid I feel down until I remember that since moving to this house 5 years ago the mortgage insurance has paid just under half all the payments due to DH having a couple of accidents which kept him off work! ;)

This is the first insurance policy we have had which has been used. Normally pay year after year without claiming.

Just a mere £18.19 per day! But it's down from about £22 per day a few months ago. Hope to remortgage to an offset in early part of next year and bring that down even more.

£11.82 per day - how depressing, but at least it is coming down month on month.

Since my last post it is now £10.49 - would be great to have that in my pocket each day!

    About £13.50 a day...

But in the process of remortgaging and borrowing more... so after the dust has settled I think it'll be about £20!!

As I thought, it's now about £19.50...

I paid £1.72 a day but it was £1.67 last month as I am using my offset account to renovate the bathrooms.

I've just worked out that I'm paying £1.58 per day. Considering I have a tiddly mortgage that still seems like a good incentive to get the mortgage paid off sooner rather than later.
