We are with HSBC fixed and can only pay 20% extra which we pay but we will be looking for a new deal in 2011. So hopefully will get a mortgage where we can be make as many overpayments.

This is very sobering going to save more for 2010!!
    Lose weight for 2010 :j

  • £9.40 per day if I average over the last year, but as I have been paying chunks off, only £7.07 per day for December.

At the start of 2009 our daily interest was £12.66.
We finished the year on £10.74.

Next target is to get daily interest down to 3 figures (less than a tenner).

2008 we paid £22.90 a day, 2009 we paid £22.09 a day. When i think of me having to find £22 a day and handing it to someone else it makes me feel sick!! Here's to me getting back to some part time work and using the additional income to up our overpayments.....if we're mananging (just) on 1 salary now, then anything else will be a bonus.
Mortgage free 04/03/2025. Thanks to this site and lots of overpayments bit by bit.
Next stop: house repairs, holiday fund, replace our very old cars, more financial security/early retirement savings.🤞
