I just registered and all seems well so far.. will bang out 20 reviews and report back what happens, lol. x0

Well I've been emailed my £10 Amazon voucher.
I'm a bit confused though now, when I read the super reviewer thing first I was given the impression that some of us would be awarded upto £50 as a special one off for our reviews... but now in my email it reads as if we would get upto £50 this month if we keep posting 20 reviews....
Can anyone clarify.... will be emailing this to bview too...

I have to say I find it a bit odd to have financial information on a review website. For example each business has something along the lines of:
Added by
Financial stability [about] 55%
Employees [about] 8
Turnover [about] £ 375,000
Profit [about] £ 0
Year established 1997
Company status Not available
Legal status [about] Trading
Is this information allowed to be published in this way without the consent of the companies involved? A few that I have looked at have very low stability and turnover showing, if it was my business in financial trouble I dont think I would want this for all to see!0 -

They are good at confusing the reviewers.
Before they hit on the idea of getting free advertising on boards, existing reviewers were told all about the Amazon deal via their blog on June 9th.Here’s the crack: since our launch we’ve seen an increasing amount of quality reviews about businesses come in from our users........We want this culture of quality reviews to continue. So from today we will be offering £10 Amazon vouchers for every 20 reviews you make on BView. Its just a little gift from the makers of BView to give you rewards for your reviews.
So what’s the catch? There is none!
At that time the idea was reviewers were to be rewarded for their "quality reviews" by getting a £10 voucher for every 20 reviews. Needless to say the blog has never been updated, so now confusion reigns, as anyone following the blog's link (intended for established reviewers to follow) finds that it's a one off, limited time offer of £10 for new reviewers joining, which they can withdraw at any time!0 -

I find the information useful, I sometimes check at the companies house website about how long a company has been trading before handing over money especially web based ones. Financial information is certainly a bonus to the consumer although for my searches it only appeared to show for larger companies, smaller ones seem to have "Not available " for the the figures.if it was my business in financial trouble I dont think I would want this for all to see!
Yes but I wouldn't want to part with several thousand pounds for a kitchen/car/building work to find out you go bust one week later. The site is provided for the consumer in mind to educate our judgement.
Any one can request the information from Companies House when paying a small fee so in that way the information is available publicly anyway and has to be by law.
The size of the turnover would be proportional to the size of the business, a one man band you would expect to have low turnover.
Profit might be low as the owners might take it out in wages instead of leave it as company profit.
Maybe some people might see low turnover/profit as a good thing and see this as a reason to use the company as they might give you a good deal and are not in the business of high markups and fleecing you.0 -
I received my £10 voucher today0

I have just completed my first 20, and have messaged to that effect.
I have just noticed that on the homepage it does still say:Get £10 of Amazon vouchers for every 20 reviews you write on BView.
Then when you follow the link it says on the following page that it is a one time only offer.
Hmm.. Methinks they need to get their facts straight.0 -
They do their advertising on the cheap, they get us to sign up with the promise of £50 a month, and then change it to £10 max by posting a notice in the middle of this thread after 6 days when all the work is being done, then they say we must post a photo of ourselves (then muddy the condition by saying a cartoon is acceptable), they allow misleading copy to stay on display all over their own website, (never mind on here - as posted above), they choose to ignore highly relevant questions, they patronise the members of this Board, and post here decrying the standard of contributions from non-members here - yet they only came here a few days ago wanting publicity.
What sort of review would they get?0 -
Im not sure if I have been lucky or if you have been unlucky.
However I joined on the 2nd of this month, did 20 reviews in one evening and got the £10 amazon voucher last night. I have since then completed another 20 reviews and had a email back to confirm that my next voucher will be with my Monday night.
** edit ** The 2nd of my £10 amazon vouchers arrived a minute ago.
I have found the response to my emails to be quick aswell, no longer than a few hours.0
