Reducing electricity usage/cost without switching?

Hi there,
We're looking to reduce our electricity usage and costs but we don't want to switch as we're happy with the current plan. We've managed to reduce our gas usage but wondered if anyone had any tips?
We don't usually leave things switched on, we have energy-saving lightbulbs everywhere, boil limited water in kettle etc.
Thanks!

Hi
I think you were asking your question, while I was writing my post! - See 'how I saved £125 on my leccy bill' - we didn't switch suppliers - just worked quite hard at lots of fairly small things, plus changing an old fridge and old freezer (which we suspected of being a fairly heavy user of electricity), for a new, A+ rated model. While I appreciate this was an outlay of approx £200, if we continue our electricity saving at the same rate, it should 'pay for itself' certainly within 9 months. Incidentally, I forgot to add in the last post - be careful how you use your fridge and freezer too - don't make them work too hard - your fridge doesn't need to be 'freezing'! - we run ours on No 1 (out of 6 choices) and this works fine - just need a bit of trial and error. Freezer, obvously don't open more often than you need to and also keep as full as possible.
Hope this helps and isn't 'grandma and eggs!'0 -
may be worth checking with current supplier if they have better tariffs to suit your usage, as THINKING of switching to xyz (do a comparison first!).. see how much they want (or need..) your business!Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0
