Post Office - Print Your Own Stamps

Not so much a "vent" as a long head scratch !

For the last 12 months I have been using the Post Office facility to print your own stamps - quite good, but a bit strange in places; why do you have to enter 4 lines of address even if the address you need is only 3 lines ? and why is one of those 4 compulsory lines NOT the postcode ? Anyway, I digress.............
I prepay my account by use of my credit card, usually in £10 lots, my current card was due to expire at the end of this month. No problem, I put £10 on my account 8 weeks ago and have used half of it.
Yesterday I had an e-mail from the PO headed: "your card has been expired" ! It went on to inform me that because my card was about to expire, the remaining credit on my account would be paid back into that credit card account.
I am totally mystified why such a bizarre procedure would be followed. The £10 was charged to my card in April, in May I paid Morgan Stanley's bill. The PO had £10 of my money - why pay some of it back when the card I used to pay it 8 weeks previously is about to expire ???
Using this logic everything I have purchased on this card over the last two years will stop working on the 30th June.

Oh...I hate that system. It doesn't give you proper options for overseas postage either ie for addresses without postcodes.
The paypal system annpys me too. You can't send a packet second class if paying via paypal. it is half the price if you go into the post office....0 -

No, I don't see any point in paying £4.99 a month to pay normal postage rates when I can do that for free on this:

You can personalise your envelopes by printing them first, before you add the postage.0
