PC gone down

Screen virtually in negative.
Tells me its set very low resolutuion. It tries to correct it but nothing happens. When I go to display its set at 4 bit and thats all there is in the drop down box. Other settings state 800x600
Any help around!!

    Sounds like the drivers for the video card may have been corrupted!

    ok basics :D

    have you restarted the PC?
    Also when you restart it press the "f8" key (I think) to show the Windows Menu.
    There should be an option for "Safemode with Networking" select that and let it load into windows.

    Is the screen the same?

    What video card do you have ?

    in Safemode open up I.E. and browse to the video card makers website and download the latest drivers.
    Reboot as normal then install the drivers
    reboot and see if that fixes it.

    Well done. went into device manager clicked update driver which it did, now up and running again many thanks!!!
