Ok here goes im just in the middle of redecorating the front room just stopped to write this.. i have my wall bracket but just after some tips hints really on what to do with the wires. i have to connect the sky+ box and dvd player ps3 is not a problem as i can just put the cable in when i use it. should i make a channel and run the wires to the bottom of the wall where there is a socket? the only thing that is concerning most is the power cable to the TV im sure it will be to small to reach from tv down to the socket.

We wall mounted our plasma in a recess in a custom made false chimney breast complete with lights behind it!

I can recommend reading this forum: www.avforums.com which is where we got our advice and inspiration from (and also where we bought our lights from). See the DIY sections.
For wiring I would recommend channelling it into the wall. It takes more effort but the end result is well worth it. If you are going to channel cables into the wall put sufficient cables in to allow for future expansion i.e. connect up any sockets you currently use and any you might use - you don't want to be cutting into the wall again! Put in good quality cables initially so you don't regret not spending the extra on cabling to begin with. For our V+ box (I know, not quite the same) I connected HDMI, scart, component and audio i.e. everything! :rotfl:
See this thread for the Apollo LED lights:

This is a great thread on a false chimney breast installation:

By the way what plasma have you got?
Cheers

I just picked up a tilt wall mount bracket for 32" - 60" screens from eBay for £24 delivered. Cheapest prices I could find otherwise started at around £50 for the exact same thing.0

If you have a chimney that is not used you can make good use of it, like this- http://www.ultimatehandyman.co.uk/hanging_plasma_tv.htm
An option for hiding the cables is d line trunking- http://www.d-line.co.uk/0 -
Sorry but I have to say that the link to hiding cables in the chimney breast looks absolutely rubbish!!! Av forums has much nicer installations lol0

Just done similar, and buried all the cables in the wall.
Run a new power point to just behind the TV using a flush mounted single socket with an isolation switch next to the standard double socket at floor level.
Then run two 5m HDMI Cables down the wall and round the fireplace in to the back of a small Indian wood sideboard unit we bought, that has wrought iron & wood doors so has plenty of ventilation but keeps them hidden and the remotes work fine.Cheers

I've always thought that digging out channels in your wall was a little excessive, and what happens when you need to change / add extra cables?
My plasma is wall mounted above my fireplace. I have an oak mantel piece. My solution was to route a grove in the back of the oak mantel to lay the cables in and then position 2 chrome poles running up vertically from the oak mantel to the plamsa to give the impression that they are used for support but infact the cables run up inside them. I hunted around for ages to find suitable poles, in the end I found a couple of spare brushed vacuum cleaner poles worked very well as they are tapered at the end to fit inside each other which means you get a very neat seal with the mantel piece. Anyways if you're interest drop me an email and I'll send you a picture of how it looks (not quite as Blue Peter as it sounds)
Good luck
