fault with boiler, no hot water, electrical fault?

Wonder if anyone can help
Had hot water last night, then this morning, no power to fuse box. For the last few weeks, I have been getting the problem with hot radiators upstairs (see there is also an on-going thread re this) - wonder if the problem could be connected. British Gas reckon £ 150, not knowing what the problem is. The local organisation reckons by describing the problem on the phone, that it's the pump and quotes a minimum £ 80, new pump would be £ 40, then VAT on top.
(Would be grateful for any advice as have a party at home planned for my daughter this weekend.Still, things could be a lot worse, could be middle of winter and at least we are not vulnerable.).

You would have to give more detail i.e make,model of boiler,full description of problems etc Also you say no power at fuse box? Are you saying your circuit breakers have tripped? is the boiler causing this? If so,a knowledge of safe electrical diagnostic testing would be required..

Thanks for posting a reply. The local guy is meant to be phoning back, so I i'll have to boiler details to hand. The boiler is a 'Potterton' and was fitted 2 years ago, I do not have any redress as it was fitted before I bought the property. The circuit board is ok, nothing is 'tripping'. The fault is that there is no electrics to the power-point plug. This also services the thermostat and the timer. I'm hoping that when someone gets back to me, they can also do the yearly service as well.l Will keep you posted! Thanks once again!
