Were you giving her subtle hints? :rotfl:
I'd say first step was to give RD a call and ask them.0 -
lol ha,
cant call them as we are deaf0 -
Write them a letter stating that you didn't ask for the book, and therefore, they have X days to collect it, or you shall be treating it as a gift. I will find a letter I sent for a similar thing."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

This is my letter to The Mystery And Thriller Club, which sent me an unsolicited book, just change the details as necessary.
To whom it may concern:
I recently received a box from you containing a book and an invoice for this book, which I understand, if I pay for, I will be entering into a contract.
This package was unsolicited mail. I have not, and would not, knowingly submit my details to anything asking to join your company. This is not something I am interested in, and would like my details to be taken from your database, as I do not wish any further correspondence from you.
I have called your customer line, and have been told that my email address is associated with the account number, which I do not understand. I have never received any correspondence from you before, through email or otherwise. I understand other people have been having problems with your company, so I understand that I am not the only one that has been receiving the unsolicited items.
I have contacted Consumer Direct Scotland, and they have advised me to send a recorded letter to you, stating the goods are unsolicited, and that they will be able for collection within 14 days of receipt of this letter, after which they will be treated as a gift and disposed of, and if this issue is not resolved by that time, Trading Standards will be involved.
In summary, I wish you to remove my details from your database, I do not wish any further letters seeking payment that I do not owe and you have 14 days to arrange collection, as I have no obligation to post back unsolicited mail.
Yours sincerely,"Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

Ahhh apologies chaz, that does change things.
Do as EP suggests, but make sure you send it recorded so you have proof that RD have recieved it.
Get the GF to have a read while you have the book and pass on any useful tips0 -
They'll probably tell you to keep it with their compliments. It is easier to do that than anything else.
I didn't renew my sub for their magazine because I was fed up with the junk mail. They sent a bill after sending 3 unsolicited mags. I told them I'd cancelled it but would happily return the mags. They said keep them! Job done. And you get a free book.Don't grow up. Its a trap!
Peace, love and labradors!0 -
thanks, will write a letter.0
