Paid on my Credit Card now the company have gone bust

Last year I booked a wedding in Orlando for this September and paid on my Asda credit card.
I paid the deposit and then the full balance of £1100 in November 2007.

I received an email from the wedding company on Monday saying that they have gone out of business and my wedding will be now organised by another company.
After speaking to this 'new' company they told me I would have to re-pay for my wedding as they hadnt received any money from the other company as they had gone bust.

I called my credit card company and they told me that they will send me a declaration form to sign and it will then take about 3-4 weeks to investigate the situation.

What are the chances of me getting my money back? I was a little unsure as it is an American company if I would still be covered.

Many Thanks

Yes it covers world wide protection. I always pay for anything large with credit card. good luck with the wedding.

You should be able to get the money back. You may be asked to obtain a liquidation form though, which is available from your local Trading Standards, or from the Companies House website.

as far as i know its always best to pay for large items on a credit card if you can as they offer protection for the items you purchase.
    have a nice wedding day
